Yes. After all, Universal does own Wicked!

Thats been confirmed by Marc Platt. Gregory Maguire has estimated the release to be 2014. But I've heard many dates thrown out. Just wait for 2014, if it comes earlier then you'll be happy.

It follows the musical rather than the book.

Cast is anyone's guess! Here's mine:

Caissie Levy or Willemijn Verkaik as Elphaba

Erin Mackey or Amy Adams as Glinda

Oliver Tompsett as Fiyero

William Shatner as the Wizard

Natalie Portman as Nessa

Angela Lansbury as Madame Morrible.
