Does any1 know if wal mart pays time and half 4 labor day.?

I just started working at wal mart and want to know if i'm getting paid extra for working on labor day.

  1. no they do not, however Wal-Mart does have a bennefit called holiday pay.  holiday pay pays you  for you average weekly hours over the last 12 weeks divided by 5 (example someone who averages 40 hours a week  over the 12 weeks would get paid for an additional 8 hours..40/5=8) Employees are paid for the following days, new years, memorial day,4th of July, Labor day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  To qualify for holiday pay one must have been employed for 6 months and must work their last shift before the holiday, the holiday if scheduled and their next scheduled shift after the holiday  if they call in for any of those shifts they lose the holiday pay.  you can see if and how much holiday pay you will get at the start of the week that has the holiday in it by checking the time clock.


  2. I am sure they have load of supervisor and managers (which are useless, anyways..) which you can ask details about your pay, and btw, good career move!

  3. It is my understanding that actually working on a holiday does give you time and a half.
