you can go on half day guided trips that take you there and have someone to tell you about it....I found it better than trying to get out there.

Try someone like viator, but there are probably heaps....The bus groups also bypass the queues as well!

Versaille is right outside Paris, you can take a train there that will get you there, or take a tour with one of the many tour companies.

If you are in a hotel you can ask them to point you in the right direction in terms of what train to take and what time, most hotels have this information handy for their clients.

Not far from Paris, it's worth to visit the Chateau de Versailles but beware long waiting to go in.
