Does any1 know what sort of car i could get in the uk for £1500-£2000?

what i really really want is a old skool japenese car from 1984-1989 with a 1.6 litre engine.rear wheel drive would be good but front wheel is ok.reasonable price for parts, dont want to pay to much.want power aswell.willing to pay a £1000 a year on insurance.engine size can be 2litre max.

You need a Honda Prelude. You'd easily get a 1994 2.2VTi for that money - 200bhp, 4 wheel steering, widely acknowledged to be the best handling front wheel drive production car.

get a subaru wrx and tell the insurance company its a subaru sport. plus its both front and rear wheel drive. or a civic vti doch vtec.

Best bet probably be a RWD RE86 Corolla, but you'll be lucky to get one for under £2k! Early Daihatsu Charade turbo might be good for a few grins too, if you can find one at all.
