I don't think the Discovery channel said anything even remotely similar to "we were going to die".  They did do a fairly good program on global warming (interviewing some of the most highly respected climate scientists in the country), but it definitely didn't infer death for all.

I saw the discovery channel when they were tracking down bigfoot, and I saw the episode where they interviewed the last known person abducted by a ufo.

I guess they are expert on these things that are 100% real, after all, who doesn't believe in bigfoot?

You should recycle,reuse,poler bears are dieing by the second and are going to be extinct by 2050 (i think) and were going to die by 2070(I think)and DO NOT pour oil,grease, meat down the drain cause you can pollute the water
