I just recently read in the paper how FEMA had a warehouse of items that had been paid for by contributions and designated for people in New Orleans, that had never been distributed...they just recently donated them to different state organizations...how can you trust your money is going where they say it is....

  1. Give it to your Church. Our Lord will take care of it from there.

  2. The only charity I support is The Children's Miracle Network, (formally known as The Crippled Children's Fund). I know from tragic personal experience they are the real thing and 100% of donations go to help the kids.

  3. There are only two organizations I would trust.

    My church and Curesearch.

I have seen the results from both of these organizations and they are quite positive.

The key with giving to charities to look at their track record first and see what percentage of contributions go to the efforts that they support. I've seem some where the charity CEO and other staff members take 40%, 50%, even 60%.

So, be careful or you may just be throwing your money away.

One other thing that is great to do that I've done in years past is to adopt a family for Christmas. It's an awesome thing to do and it really makes your holidays special too.
