I will start by saying I am not rich I am in the middle class bracket at about 40,000 per year but why is it that everybody is so against people that have a lot of money. I don't know about anybody else but I respect rich people and hope to eventually become one of them. Without them do you think we would have a middle class? If there were no rich people do you think there would be grocery stores or banks or anything that we need on a daily basis. People need to stop being jealous because that is how we get people like Obama running for president and it will end up wrecking our country. I just hope by then I will be rich enough to escape it when they do.

  1. there ya' go! Trying to s***w up the agenda with sensible information again...now..if we can just accomplish s******g all the 'demon' oil companies, who do you think will be making up all those taxes they pay-when we run them out of business?..surely not...me?

  2. The rich did NOT create the middle class and regardless of how much taxes the rich pay, the gap between the super-rich and everyone else is obscene.  The comforts that the middle class enjoys did not come from benevolence on the part of the rich (just as the rich don't become rich through benevolence, quite the opposite, actually.  one of the ways they get rich is by making a profit off the work of others).

As another answerer pointed out, thank the labor movement for your comforts.  And remember that throughout U.S. history, when workers wanted fair wages, to be paid on time, safe working conditions, a limit to the number of work hours required (ya know, like a 5-day work week?), the owners of these companies would often respond by SHOOTING at the workers.

Now, rather than deal with the pesky expenses of treating workers like human beings, businesses would rather ship the work overseas, where there's less protections.  Which hurts U.S. workers, and as far as industrial goods go, insures that production of goods that are essential to the functioning of the U.S.A., is now tied up in other countries, which to my mind, makes us a good bit less secure, economically and otherwise!  But the bottom line trumps national security, civil rights, and fair treatment every time, doesn't it.

Oh, and not all business owners are rich....though perhaps as a result of predatory business tactics and the money to buy government influence, there aren't any small businesses left in your area to remind you of that fact!

  3. It is just the typical class envy that the liberal Democrats have been preaching for about the past 40 years. The only difference is the mega rich know how to shelter their incomes off shore as well as in trusts. It is the people that make about $300,000 a year that are really screwed. Not enough to take advantage of loopholes and too much to pay an unfair amount of taxes.

  4. The labor movement built the middle class against the desires of the rich. It took mass strikes to accomplish it. If it weren't for labor, the admirable, hard-working rich would still be using child labor here in America, instead of having the decency to use child labor in other countries like they do now.

  5. AMEN!

There is a reason why you were taught to go to school and get good grades. Get an education to better yourself. Punishing the successful and rewarding the ones who did not work hard in school makes zero sense.
