In all those TV shows where they show police chases no one ever gets away and the voice over person always says things like, "when you run from the law, it's not a matter of IF you will get caught, it's only a matter of when!". Is this true? That 100% of the time the person gets caught? This always annoys me because I think that there has to be a time when someone outran the cops somewhere. If this does happen, then is it censorship to pretend that it never happens or just social precaution (i.e. if people know that it's possible, then maybe more people would try it)
What if someone hooked up a huge gas tank to their car and could go thousands of miles without stopping?
Could someone get far enough away and then pull into a driveway and turn off the car while the cops speed on by?
What if someone cut a hole in the bottom of their car and escaped through the sewers?
I am aware that most of the people who try to run are drunken or drugged up idiots and that's why they get caught.
