Does anybody ever get sick of people hating cops?

I'm not a cop, nor is anyone in my family, but I'm sick of people hating cops. They put their lives on the line routinely for public safety. I'd say 90% of the cops I've met are good people and I can't see any of them punishing someone for no reason. In fact, nowadays cops can barely look at criminals without getting sued. People only hate cops because they know what they're doing is wrong and they're afraid.

Those same idoits are the first ones to dial 911 when someone breaks into their homes.

I think most of these haters had some kind of a negative experience with a cop or cops. It also, truly, depends on your ethnicity and the cops ethnicity. I am not a hater. I do appreciate the high risk that comes with their job and can only imagine what their families deal with on a daily basis. On the other hand, there are some cops who are just playing cops. They were those kids who did not do well in school and college was not something they wanted to pursue. It is a control thing for some of these people.

I think it depends on how the cop acts. if they seem to be on a power trip then they need to be stopped. if they act responsibly and are willing to treat people good then they will be treated good.

They only hate them until they need them. I agree, people that unleash their hate on those that have taken a job to serve all people, should be ashamed of themselves. However, like you said, 90% of those servinf our communities are very good, it just takes one or two to make the group look bad. If we judged other groups by that standard we would be called racist, bigots, prejudice, and many other names.

i don't think it's an hatred for cops in general but i do think there are a lot of cops out there who let there badge get in the way of good judgement and carry there authority way too far! and that gives good cops a bad rap!!!

Yes!  Ithat and Military.  It is so sad, and really useless.  They are the first on the lines and the ones we depend on.

hatred is taught.

the disrespectful treatment and attitude towards someone because of color, race, or nationality is usually instilled by a parental figure. it displays ignorance and fear towards something they do not understand.

hatred of law enforcement however displays aggression towards authority figures. Normally persons who dislike law enforcement officials are involved in activities that are either illegal or actions they are ashamed of.

As most people grow older, they shed their fears and hatreds.

Too bad some people never grow up.
