  1. You can join www.proz.com. It's an international translating/interpreting site where translator/interpreter and individuals/institutions that need translation/interpretation meet.

  2. You could possibly join the professional organisation in your country to promote your second language which employers will often approach for translation work and who will give individual members help and advice.  For instance in the UK we have the Goethe Institute for German speakers.

  3. Good luck.

  4. We need translators for our FanSub group.

FanSubs our free therfore we don't pay our translators.

  5. It really depends where you live.

There would be no point in me giving you the name of a company that needs translators if the company is in Australia and you're in Canada.

Well, I could just check where you lived if I really wanted to, but I don't.

Anyway, just use one of job search websites. For example, if you lived in Australia, one of the websites you could go to is Job Search.

    http://jobsearch.gov.au/default.aspx

You can search for employers that are looking for a person of certain criteria, or employers can search for people that match their needs.

There are many different versions for different countries, I can imagine. Australia isn't exactly the most innovative country in the world. And for Australia alone there are heaps. CareerOne, Seek and MyCareer are just naming a few.

Anyway, just search around a bit. Try different websites, put out a want ad in the paper; anything.

Just I don't really think Yahoo Answers is the right place for a question like this.

And the girl above me seems to know what she's talking about.

    Listen to her.

  6. The list on Go Translators now contains more than 2,750 addresses of various agencies&potential employers, and is the longest in the world. Compiling it took hundreds of hours’ research on Google, Yahoo and the Open Directory Project. It substantially increases your chances of establishing professional contacts.

But the best part of this professional association is not only adding approximately 400 addresses p/a, but removing around 250, either because they are no longer in use and GoMembers have brought them to their attention, (bad payers!) or because agencies contact them stating their wish to be removed from the list.

It is therefore a dynamic, increasingly rich tool that they are trying to keep up-to-date and ensure that it is a list of useful contacts rather than unwittingly used as a spamming tool.

http://www.proz.com is also a  reliable source, as already mentioned.
