  1. I have been using VoIP for years...

Vonage, optimum voice (from the cable company), skype, and now the magic jack...

the only VoIP provider that can get you close to landline quality is your cable company, in fact, the quality may be better. they are the only VoIP provider that can give the voice packets priority over the other internet traffic going to your home over there network...

aside from a few hic-ups related to data traffic on my LAN (wife playing WOW, and me streaming HD video at the same time) I love the MJ and do not have any complaints... much better then skype... but it is not a landline...

suggest you get it as a second line test it out and see how you like it before you cut the cord to your landline, its cheap enough. ...

  2. Greetings! Yes, I am the proud owner of a magic jack. I have been using it since January. It is wonderful, I call my Mom in Florida every day from my home in Georgia. She 88 and I need to keep an eye on her. My Bellsouth bill(now AT&T) was $102.00 a month for DSL Y unlimited local and long distance. I switched to the Magic Jack for long distance. Keeping my land line with long distance only if I need to, call waiting and my DSL line the bill dropped to $64.00 a month. A nice savings!

But because of the lousy service on the DSL line I only use the magic jack with no other programs running on my computer, otherwise I get the old Max Headroom repeat on the line.

All in all , I'm very happy with it, saves money, big time.

You order the part, plug it into an oopen USB port and the devise does the rest, even comes with a pigtail if you don't have a lot of room.

I give it a B+. and have recommended it to friends. Good Luck, Dj

  3. The Magic Jack is in a class by itself.....its kinda rides on the Ymax co. back!!

I love my MagicJack....! it all depends on what you're looking for?

but remember, if you are like the rest of most ppl who need every thing spoon-feed, then the MJ is not for you....but if you get turned on by getting something cheap, like me....well, then the MJ is for you!!!

I had seen it first last year on the ClarkHoward show, so I got it right-a-way, because was ready to go on vacation to Europe. I've used it all over there, and anywhere you got high-speed Internet....now, all my friend s in Europe wanted one too, so I bought 12 MJ...activate them in the US, got an US area-code and mailed them abroad.....so now they can call me for free with on US area-code!!!!

Land Phones its really easy to use....like a VoIP service (Internet phone)

but you computer got to be on at all times for it to work!!

You gotta download their software....but its very easy and you don't need to do nothing else...! I have it since last year...! so far I love it...I take it on vacation to other countries so I can call back for free with an US area code! Make sure you use another user account and not the admin account...also if you have trouble...check your device manager....don't do your iPot stuff at the same time...!

all you get is the Magic Jack...the rest you learn on your on, or at the MJ forum!

You will be up and running within 5 minutes....you can ask here questions when you get it going!! There are alot of little things you have to know........for it to work just right!!

the most important thing with the MJ...it all depends on your ISP provider....! I use other VoIP on my computer, but the MJ was the easiest to install...
