  1. that is such a broad question theres no possible way to answer it. It is also dependent on whose stages of development your using? try reading a child development book, it should help.

  2. The stage of development has a lot to do with how you teach them. Which stages are tactile lessons more effective, which stages are visual aids more effective, etc...

  3. Children learn or grasp understanding of things depending on their emotional/maturity level. A lot has to do with a child's  ability to stay focused on a task. The older a child is, the more ability he/she possesses to concentrate on the task at hand. This is why a two year old doesn't  learn to read, no matter how much parents push and hope for a little Einstein. Children need to bloom at their own developmental pace.

  4. A child will leasrn when they are ready, this includes every part of their development. A tiny baby can only communicate through crying and cannot feed themselves, as they develop they learn that crying brings a reaction and therefore their brain has developed sufficiently for them to use crying as a communication skill. They then develop further and learn how to feed themselves. As the brain develops the child learns new skills as long as activities are appropriate to their stage of development, too hard and they lose heart, too easy and lose interest.

  5. You need to give a child most of the inputs between 0-6 years of age. If you spend more time with your child during this phase then you have to given them for their life.

My son will turn 4 in June. I have spent a lot of time trying to teach him and expose him to vast area of knowledge since he was 1 and half. Now his brain is so active and accustomed to learning that it takes very little time for him to register new facts and data. In most cases anything that is repeated 3 times to him he gets it.

  6. they learn the most when they are first developing (ages 0-5).  In this period of time they are learning to speak, read, walk, run, and learning basically all about the basic world. A Child takes in the majority of the basic knowledge used in life at this time. Other than that the more complex learning is in the ages 6-17 and then i don't think a 18 year old is considered a child.

  7. Hello,

Well, it depends on what theory you believe.  Piaget thought that children...keep in mind - young...are ready to learn different things at different stages.  For instance, if a 5 year old boys is having a hard time remembering certain rules of phonics, it may not be that he is "not bright (for lack of a better for p. c. way to put it)" it may be that he is just not ready to learn that.  It really depends on what age group you are talking about since the inability to learn certain principles at certain ages can be a sign of learning disabilities, also.
