does any body know the effects of slim fast on a young child of 7 my mother has been giving my daughter slim fast dont worry i have taken care of this. just wondering the effects of it. shes already under weight and I have a hard time to getting her to. needless to say she wont go back to my mother no time soon

I would think Slim-Fast would be just fine, provided the child is also eating healthy meals.  Slim-Fast does not contain any stimulants, or weight-loss medication, but instead is a vitamin-packed meal-replacement drink.  So, your little girl should be a-okay.

By the way, out of curiosity:  Why was your mom giving her Slim-Fast?

Slim fast is full of vitamins, protein , and calcium . As long as shes getting her recommended caloric intake from other meals throughout the day.. it wont harm her at all. :)

why was she giving her slim fast? i drink it sometimes! it gives me energy--but as far as effects on the child i dont think it would really harm her! maybe make her more hyper or slimmer! but i still wouldnt advice anyone under the age of 16 to drink it!

Slim fast will probably do what is was made to do--slim the body. Ridiculus as that is, it shouldn't hurt your child. Just make sure she doesn't drink it again, and get her back to a normal wieght.

That's a horrible idea. Unless a 7 year old is terribly overweight, she shouldn't be drinking anything, expecially without your consent.  If she's underweight, i probably wouldn't monitor what she's eating that much. not overboard on junk food but don't make her a health freak.

I dont know why she was giving her slimfast, but it has pretty good nutrition in it, so I am sure you have nothing to worry about.  In fact if she drank the whole can, she probably got more nutrition than she might have otherwise, especially if she is a picky eater.  Slim fast is used as a meal substitute ..is doesnt have any drugs or anything , its supposed to be satisfying because it supplies all the nutrition of a meal.

I dont think it will have a bad effect on her. Especially if it has stopped. Just get her to eat healthy so she gains a bit of weight and is normal.

What was wrong with the slim fast. Was she trying to make her lose weight or was it just a drink and harmless?  I think you should give your child Ensure plus to help her gain weight.

There will be no effects from the slim fast.  It is just a meal replacement

if shes under weight...and feeding her slim fast.....i'm going to say 1 word...(no)...she can get 2 skinny....its not healthy..

since she is (7) right...i'm tall & fat...but i'm so tall it looks like

i have no fat on me....weird....i were a large and it way 2 big..

but i'm so tall i need a large..because its long.....

It will be ok. All it has in it is vitamins. It is low in calories and is recommended to drink 2, 3 with fruits and veggies. As long as this is not the only nutrition the child is getting. It will be fine.

I don't think slim fast will have a negative effect as long as that's not all your daughter was fed. Drinking slim fast with meals, will actually help you gain weight, the only way slim fast will make you lose weight is if you drink only slim fast all day or if you are following the slim fast diet.  :)
