Question:

Does anybody heard about the movie "The March"(1990) - David Wheatley?

I heard that this movie has been censored by the United Nations, because shows them in a bad light towards immigration of Africans to Europe. I looked everywhere for information and found almost nothing, except for a brief description on IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0100942/bio), considering it "one of the most important political films". I found really strange that I couldn't find any info anywhere about it, and started wondering if its possible that the UN would work in a effort to eradicate the movie, even if that sounds like a urban legend.

Thanks for anyone who got some interest on the subject.

  1. Did you find it?  We're wanting to screen it as part of a film festival.  It was  TV movie, produced by the BBC.  The UN didn't censor it to my knowledge.

  2. You find the film on YouTube chopped up in 10 parts
by searching for "the march 1990 david wheatley".
Less specific search will reveale nothing.
A very prophetic film. It can not be bought.
William Nicholson who wrote the screenplay writes me,
that the rights lies with BBC. BBC will not sell a copy.
It has been screened in Germany recently. www.o3v.dk had it
to be screened for school classes. Their copy "has disapeared".
    Maybe UN borrowed it ;-)
