  1. Yeah, it's growing. I've been playing for 13 years. We're decent at 7's, and we are second tier in 15's.

  2. The USA Eagles baby!

  3. Jacksonville Axemen are one team. They hosted South Sydney vs Leeds Rhinos with a sellout crowd a month or two back.

  4. Take an educated guess    It's not too hard

  5. THEY BETTER

  6. Actually there is a growing number of people in the US that play. usarugby.com is one website. I am a flanker on a men's club located in Fredericksburg Va. Our website is www.fredrugby.com

  7. Not really, but every now and then they're invited to the World Cup to make up the numbers. Haven't won a game there yet though.

  8. yes!!!  i do!!! ive been playing for 15 years- just about every college/ univ has a club team, especially in the northeast and in California and Denver regions.  The colleges have been slow to make rugby a varsity sport due to inundation of different sports and they've tried to accept rugby at the national level for women because there is more funding available.  (due to a law that says women should have equal representation in sports from the university).  right now most players are college age or older, but popularity of the sport is growing and highschool and youth programs are emerging.  so yes, we're getting there.

and to all those that want to put down the eagles.... remember in the world cup... the 2 finalists came from our pool... RSA and England... and the eagles played very well against both teams... and maybe better vs RSA than england did in the pool preliminary matches.  ... andthe USA has won the last two gold medals in olympic rugby!!!

yes we play rugby- and i think we've been struggling to get the structure of the sport set as far as divisions and regional play... from the collge level to regional select side play to the eagles but as popularity grows, the structure becomes clearer.

One thing we have a problem with here is getting sponsrship and support form our communities.  my city wont let us use city fields or parks or school fields either.  we have a hard time finding someplace to play games and also finding a practice field with lights in the winter!

it hasnt been easy, but rugby is growing more than ever here.  watch out- i think the USA will be a major competitor in the next 4 years!
