Does anybody know USPS tracking number start with "RE" mean what?

Question

I bid a iPhone 3G from eBay and the seller charge me US$100 for shipping... The tracking number is RExxxxxxxxxUS.

Does anybody know what service type of this tracking number?

RE means that your item was sent as Registered Mail. This does not indicate any particular type of service. It can be First Class Mail International, Priority Mail International or one of the Express Mail products.

I would think that for that amount of shipping, that Express mail would be used. You need to ask what class of mail was used of the sender.

You can send me the number and I will look it up at work. I may be able to see what class of mail was used using our Intranet.

you just go to USPS web site and put the RE++++++++++US and then poped out your imformation.

I don't know RE meaning.
