Question:

Does anybody know a good science website?

I have to do an essay on how could I play a sport on the moon. I need to know stuff about the moon. I also need to understand the Newton's 3 laws of motion. So does anybody now a website where it has that type of information (plus I'm in going to seventh grade soon so I need something that is easy for me to understand, I'm not good at science).

P.S If you could tell me a website that has information on sports I'd be more than happy. Please don't give me www.espn.com or anything like that. Thank you

  1. try these two

  2. Go to google (the search engine) look up moon gravity and Newton's 3 laws. You're going to have to sort through the information your self. Wikipedia may have some info on that subject.

  3. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction = newtons third law

when you throw a ball your arm is exerting energy and thus propelling the ball. (on the moon) i took it last year. and i forgot srry

it wouldn't work too well. without air it doesn't decelerate. it won't slow down.

  4. Your weight on the moon is a function of the moon's gravity. First, we know that gravity is a force that attracts all physical objects towards each other (but why this happens is largely unknown!). Second, the greater the mass of an object, the stronger the force of gravity.

The moon is 1/4 the size of Earth, so the moon's gravity is much less than the earth's gravity, 83.3% (or 5/6) less to be exact. Finally, "weight" is a measure of the gravitational pull between two objects. So of course you would weigh much less on the moon. Imagine how far you could jump on the moon! The Apollo astronauts apparently had fun :-)

  5. http://science.howstuffworks.com/future-...

probably has what you want (howstuffworks.com, then pick "science", then "space", then "future space".  Their featured article is "what if we lived on the moon" but is mostly about how the resources balance out. wikipedia is also a good source, but might not have everything in one spot. http://www.stars4space.org/Sports.html talks about how space exploration has benefitted sports on earth and promises a future article about sport in space. http://www.spacefuture.com/tourism/sport... talks about design of zero gravity gymnasiums and which sports would probably go first. The page builds weird, you'll have to scroll down.

space.com is an authoritative source and has lots of good articles
