I really have gotten A LOT of interest in being a neurosurgeon and I have become REALLY curious in how to get there! How do you get into Medical School, Where are you supposed to find a Medical School, and what university do you recommend I go to so I can be in the medical field?

  1. Hello there! Med School huh... if you're in your pre-medical course (any BS courses)  you should establish a good foundation (meaning maintaning a high grade and really love the anatomy and physiology and basic stuff about science) because it will really help you in med school. Some might find it a real shoker when it comes to being enrolled in a med school. They say they have no life, because they concentrate too much in studying and less of the fun. Loving and enjoying  the books of med will eventually lead to an deeper understanding of being human. You like to become a neurosurgeon ... WOW...that would be a nice to look at... many yearsfrom now in your bussiness card. The problem based learning is like studying with your co-med classmates sharing what your read and studied, like collaboration of ideas and concepts about the subject.  The best school... hmmm try scouting as may schools as possible... the nearest med school in your area might be your first... or ask from close relatives and friends and even your teachers if they knew some. But first you must pass your BS course, a passing mark from your NMAT, your chosen Med school plus the interview.

  2. Medical school is very competitive. Some people even end up going to schools outside the USA because it is soooo hard to get into ones here. All of them have acceptance rates that are less than 5%. Neurosurgery is a challenging career and you will probably finish school only by the age of 35. School will cost you a lot of money, but with your high pay salary you will be able to pay it off when you start working.
