Does anybody know about a craftsman riding lawnmower.?

the idle bogs down when you engage the blades and we have tried everything. we had the valves replaced and the carberator, any suggestions on what to do next

  1. Call a local mower shop, they should be able to answer this question.


  2. Have you lubed the jack shaft that goes to the blades.See if one has a bad bearing by turning it (NOT!!!while engaged) by hand to see if one drags.

  3. There was a good suggestion to check the condition of the mower deck.  Make sure that everything turns freely and is not making unusual noises.  Also there is a brake on on of the mower deck spindles, make sure that the blade is disengaging.  The other thing that I can think of is the governor.  If it is not working right it will not open the throttle to keep the engine speed up.  I would check the linkage from the governor to the carburetor.  You could also check it by driving the tractor up a fairly steep hill and see if it bog or if the engine keeps it's speed.  I still lean towards something with the carburetor but if you replaced it and it does the same thing it wouldn't be likely.
