  1. HEY...

    I'm from UP-NORTH - CLEVELAND, OHIO way...

Been to YOUR state a couple of times RECENTLY...  for MARDIS GRAS...

Spent most of MY time in HOUMA...

I HEARD all the stuff about 'waitressing'...  I don't know...  I was told that it is not only a 'rewarding' job, but a 'lucrative' job, to go out there and harvest the 'crawdads'...  maybe I'm not 'spelling' it right, but the way "I" understand it...  even if you fall out of the boat...  you should be able to STAND-UP, so you shouldn't DROWN (as in being in over your head - like you might be if you went out into the GULF)!

    Hey...  just a thought!

    GOOD LUCK!

  2. I was going to say ski instructor until I saw where you lived... Rafting guide?

  3. hmm.. being a waiter, its fun too. if the boss isn't a jack ***. dont ever work at menards, it blows. and the customers only yell at you, and you can't say anything. just smile and nod.

  4. Unfortunately most jobs that someone under 18 can work are pretty limited and don't pay the greatest.  You could always get a job at a fast-food restaurant (probably won't pay well), a clothing store or something in the mall (pays decent), or a call center (pays very well, but typically don't give raises).  I'm not sure what would be available in Baton Rouge, but chances are all three of those job types will be!  Good luck :)

  5. What about stock person at a warehouse or grocery store?  I would try Costco, they seem to pay the highest.

  6. Apply to be a host or busser at a restaurant.

  7. waitress, cashier, or supermarket.....

  8. What are you good at?

When I was in high school, I was a life guard at a public swimming pool.

  9. That pays good?  No not at all.

  10. I'm 18, and the best paying jobs any of my friends have ever had are fitness related. My lifeguard friend makes SO MUCH, it's crazy. And my other friend is a golf caddy (I guess there's a special scholarship for caddies called Evans Scholars and hundreds get a full ride to a big college every year just for writing a couple essays! So... it's a pretty good deal!)

But honest to god, if you can babysit a lot, that brings in tons of money. Plus no tax deductions :)

  11. my father is a bagel deliver and when i work for him its easy i do it 2 times a week and i make 300 dollars a day. u might not make as much but no matter what it will be a good paying easy job.

so find someone who does that sort of work and ask if they need help.

  12. Jobs such as volunteering in nursing homes, volunteer fire fighting, and volunteer crossing guard all will certainly repay you with much good.

None of them pay very well, however.  I'm not just trying to be snide though - part of my job is screening resumes, and a good/well confusion in the cover letter or resume would get it tossed.

I did landscaping in high school, and felt like it paid pretty well.  I mostly worked for apartment complexes and city parks departments.
