A very good, free anti-virus available to download is AVG 8 Anti-virus:

And for any spyware problems, get SpyBot - Search and Destroy:

Also, for protecting your personal info and files, use Ad-Aware 2008 Free Edition:

All of them are free, as powerful as paid programs, like Norton and McAfee, and don't use up as many resources.

Just boot into Safe Mode (Press F8 when turning on the computer) and run full scans.

AVG offer great sercrity they have a free download but the best ones you have to pay for,though you can get a free 30 day trail.

Most computers come with the soft whear allready installed if you computer is new cheak loaded ALL of the disks that came with the computer

What like anti-virus? AVG do a good anti-Virus package and can be downloaded http://free.avg.com/ww.download?prd=afe.

Lavasoft do a good anti-adware package called adaware which can be got from http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_fr... and there's also spybot search and destroy - a good anti-spyware application which you csn get here: http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.h... Hope it helps!
