  1. http://www.xtrememinimotors.com/ knows a ton about scooters

  2. i own a chinese bike, ignore that statement... people tend to hate what they don't know about or understand...

on chinese bikes, they're pretty much just a couple of diffrent engine models, even for 30-40 diffrent companies... so in a sense, they're all the same bike just with a diffrent logo stamped on it... that being said, check on the BBB (http://welcome.bbb.org/) and find a dealer/shipper that they endorse...

the real problem with buying chinese bikes is not finding a decent one... it's finding a decent company....

  3. Which ever brand you choose,I recommend you go the the Better Business Bureau website for your State.Check out the business you will be purchasing it from.Type in the business name see how many complaints,if they were all handled fairly.Best of luck.

  4. I ride a Kymco Grand Vista 250 every day to & from work- all highway, average 40 miles/commute - more if I have meetings around the state.  Love it!  Perfect ergonomic fit for me, but if you have very long legs, you might not be that comfortable.    Other Kymco models fit differently.  Kymco's have a 2 year warranty - better than many others

  5. I wouldn't do it but its your money. There are 4 big names from japan. I don't remember a kaw scooter. I didn't like the vespa, funny sitting posture otherwise a great scooter. I'm a fan of the Burgmann 400 by Suzuki. 85mph, hi way cruise, 55mpg overall and reputable.

  6. I ride a Kymco PS250.  Great bike, good power, can do highway speeds, and gets 75+ mpg.  You can see it here:

Kymco is from Taiwan; great brand, great reliablity and warranty.

  7. There are a lot of reputable brands out there... if you want a cheaper 'off-brand' scooter then there are several of those to choose from as well.  These include SunL, Roketa, and Tank but I would say that Strada is one of the more dependable chinese scoots out there.  When you get one, make sure to look over the bike real well for any loose parts and other things since quality control is not their top priority.  You may also have to clean the carb before your first ride because they use some stuff to protect it prior to being sold.
