  1. try this site: http://www.fishlore.com/Profiles-SilverD...

I use fishlore for all of my fishy needs!

Silver Dollars seem like they would be a great fish to keep, and you can tell the males form the females easily (in my opinion). Make sure you cycle your tank before getting a silver dollar or any other fish :)

  2. This site should tell you almost everything you need to know:

  3. they r vegeterians, may be aggressive, and are around 6 inches, they are best in a species tank, when fully grown they can inflict serious bites. They should not be keep with peaceful small fish like barbs, they may nip at their fins.

  4. SD's can get to be about 6-8inches or the size of a small saucer. They are very skittish at first..they do settle down but will always be jumpy with fast movement. They should be in groups of at least 3, 5 would be better.  I would get a 55 gallon or bigger. That way you can add more fish. They will get along with most fish that are not aggressive. Most fish labeled semi-aggressive will go with them, even community fish such as black skirt tetras for example will go with them fine. Most bottom dwelling fish will work to, cory cats or loaches if you get a big enough tank. Ph 6-7.5 is there general range, of course yours doesn't have to be exact.
