Does anybody know anything about the supposed truckers strike that's to happen next month?

My boyfriend owns his own truck repair shop (J.A.C.K. Diesel in Fontana, Ca). We were wondering if the truckers strike is a for sure thing. It's supposedly is suppose to last 3 days. If so, do you think it will be good for his business or bad? Will truckers take that time to send their trucks in for repairs? What are the chances?

Just curious. Thanks!

  1. It's a rumor.

But if a driver is to shut down,   that would be an excellent time to put the truck in for maintenance.

  2. I own a trucking company and I have not heard this rumor, while they have been talking for the last several years about striking, but the truckers can't seem to band together to "shut-down" for the most part it's because they do not own their own trucks and have families to feed. However, in my opinion if the truckers could finally "band together" and shut down, they might actually make a difference on the fuel prices. But I can make you ONE PROMISE if there is a strike my trucks will be on the front lines!!

  3. I am surprised truckers have not done this with diesel fuel higher than gasoline.  Our truckers move America's needs and without them we could do nothing to support our day to day lives.  Truckers are our life-line.

As strong as the trucking industry is maybe an effort on their part to stop the transport of goods/products a couple of days will stop this unbelievable rise in all fuel.  I have been a supporter of the Republican party but we need a change, NOW!  Maybe a Democratic leader will stop this unaffordable rise in costs because nothing is doing it now.

    Stay Positive.

  4. Had not heard this rumor......probably way for companies to justify price increases on trucked items...

If it occurs (it happened long long ago) and lasts three days, I doubt it will help business.  They will not send trucks in for repairs as they are not making money......it will be bad for business.....no work, no breakdowns, no repair work.......Chances are it will not even occur...as we had not heard of it.......brother is long distance trucker.....he has not heard of it...he said could be union or company thing...not independant thing....
