Does anybody know how I can get a body exhumed?

My Mother died almost two years ago, I have

reason to suspect that my stepfather poisoned

her.

If the family agrees with you, You'll have to find a good lawyer.Then it goes to court. It's a long process.

You have to begin by going to the police and hire a criminal investigation lawyer. You should be sure of your facts before you get into this because it will end up being very costly if you are wrong, not to mention traumatic to go through this long and difficult process.

Your first step would be to contact a good lawyer, who will help you obtain a court order.  However, most judges will not issue an Order of Exhumation unless there is adequate proof.

You would have to take that up with the District Attorney, but I doubt you can do that without reasonable evidence.

was a toxicology report done by the coroner at the time of her death? if so and no known poisons were present, you probably wont get the body exhumed at all.

contacting a lawyer should be your first action. they will advise if it could be possible, what you will have to do for it to be possible, what your chances are and how long it may take.

You need to have some proof.  Get a lawyer.  He'd have to present your request and reason for it to a judge.  Good luck.
