Does anybody know how bad hurricane Gustav is supposed to be?

At category 3, it will be bad.  Not as bad as a cat 5, of course, but bad enough.  I know that if I lived in that part of the country, I'd be making sudden plans of visiting relatives or friends who live up north.

Personally, I think everyone's overreacting because of what happened last time.

May be Cat 3, Hope it does not strengthen to Cat 4. There are VERY warm waters in the gulf that will only strengthen the storm. I am keeping up with it, in fear of gulf in TX.

It all depends on Gustav's forward speed. I think Cat 3 is a definite. Cat 4 is a possibility. If Gustav were to enter the Gulf and slow down, it could actually weaken in to a Cat 2 because it would draw up colder water from the bottom of the Gulf
