Question:

Does anybody know how i would go about getting work on a cruise ship?

I am from the uk so obviously i am only interested with companys that work in the uk, and i am not looking for work which is of a skilled nature but jobs such as laundry work, kitchen work or cleaning etc.. if anybody could help then i would be extremely grateful.

  1. P & O Cruises is a UK based cruise line you can inquire with.  On their website they only list the skilled positions http://www.pocruises.com/careers/main01....  but I'm sure somewhere listed there is the number to call regarding other positions.  Carnival was like that when I had applied.

    But just as an additional note, the positions you're looking at applying for are normally filled by Indonesians, Phillipino's, East Indians etc.. I shouldn't assume that the same for P&O, but the majority of the other cruise lines hire from these countries.  Also, those positions work long hard hours (aprox 10 hours per day every day) for little pay.

    As an alternative position to maybe consider would be the Gift Shop.  The hours are long but only on sea days, the pay is decent and you get port time off.  The company that hires for them is Starboard Cruise Services.

  3. Find some companies that work in your area. Call them and ask about what jobs they have open. Work from there.
