Does anybody know how to get a dream fastpass for disneyland?

i am worried because i will be going to disneyland in mid august and i know it is going to be really crowded. i have heard that sometimes they run out of fastpasses by early afternoon. i am only going to get 1 fullday in the park so i want to get the most out of it. i have heard this dream fastpass will let you get multiple fastpasses at once. if u know it by another name could you let me know?

I know a lot of schools that start beginning of August, so you may end up lucky and have a slightly less croud.

The people that hand out the dream fastpasses, are stationed at different locations in the park. You will see them wearing a white vest. You have to go up to them as they will not approach you. The dream fastpass consists of fastpasses for both Disneyland and California Adventure, one fast pass per major ride.

The Dream FastPasses are part of the Year of a Million Dreams.  These, and other "prizes" are handed out at random times at random locations.   As to where to be since it is random it is impossible to tell you be at this place at this time to get one.  So don't really worry if you don't get one.  But if you want to improve your chances get their early, as they do tend to give these out in the mornings.  Then just go around and ride the rides as you normally would.  

As to what they do.  They do not exactly allow you to get multiple Fastpasses.  It is sort of a "Super FastPass" that gives you a single Fastpass for every FastPass Attraction.  Each FP attraction has a tab on the Dream Fastpass and when you use it for that attraction you give up the Tab for that one.  Unlike the regular FastPasses you do not have to wait until a specific time.  You also can still get regular Fastpasses that would be under the regular rules.  That is one every two hours or when your first one becomes valid.

There is really no way to be sure you get one. They are given out at random by Cast Members known as the "Dream Squad". These cast members can sometimes be seen wearing white vests but this is not always the case. If you want a dream fastpass, your best bet would be to get to the park as early as possible. Then just ride rides and do whatever you would normally do. If you see a dream squad cast member and want one of the prizes whatever you do, do not approach them as they can only give the prizes to people they approach, not people who approach them.

The dream fastpass is a prize given out as part of Disney's "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion. They are given out on a daily basis at each of Disney's parks and are only good for one use at each of the fastpass attractions at the park the fastpass was awarded at. This is typically more important of a detail at the Florida parks. The passes are also only good on the day they are awarded. The Dream Fastpasses are a lanyard with a plastic base with tabs with the names of all the fastpass attractions at the park. When one is used, the tab for that ride is broken off. Having a Dream Fastpass in no way interferes with your ability to get or use the regular fastpass system, it is just kind of a bonus.
