Does anybody know how to install 15' subs into a dual ported enclosure?

i just bought to 15-inch Kickers and im buying a dual ported enclosure but im not sure if there are any other accesories that i need

  1. there arent any accessories that i know of. are the subs dual voice coil or single? the way you match the ohm load of the subs to the amp will determine how it sounds.


  2. You don't really need anything along with your enclosure.  The suggestion from Jmann is good about those nuts.  They will help, especially if you plan on taking out your subs a few times.

    As for what sounds the best, it all depends on what you are looking for.  If you are looking for loud SPL and loudness then a ported enclosure will be the way to go.  For more of a sound quality sound I would recommend sealed.

    Vented and ported are the same thing.  One just uses round ports and the other uses square ports.  There is no difference in sound if they both have the same tuning frequency and volume (and they have relatively close cross sectional areas for the port(s)).

  3. For the installation I would look for tee nuts and socket head cap screws. They look a lot better and are much stronger than wood screws. Plus you don't have to worry about stripping the holes.
