  1. If it is in the house, it will need as much sun as you can give it maybe. These guys like sun so much and they get so big that they do not do well in the house usually. but they can only go outside if it nevers gets below 26F.

it seems the majestic may be one of the few palms that does not make a great houseplant. But there may be more than one kind, like i saw this page about a MiniMajestic:

    http://www.palmsnc.org/pages/palm_detail...

they might want constant water. not soggy soil maybe, i do not know, most plants do not. But steady water..although one place said they want to dry out between waterings<<the thing is u might get conflicting advice by listening to just one person.

the Majestic likes fertilizer too I have read, probably since they are such active growers. The more you feed it the faster it will grow but if you do not feed it then it might die. It likes a fertilizer like 8-4-12. and also micro-nutrients. Probably might be easy to find a box of palm food? and that way it might have it all. but check the label and if it does not have the micronutrients, then you can use kelp/seaweed. Granulated or liquid kelp has all the micronutrients and also some potassium (potassium was the 12 number).

The soil it grows in should be rich and maybe sandy. Like 1/3 compost and 1/3 sand and then 1/3 something else (maybe top soil). It does not want to be alkaline. If u do not like to mix your own, I would not be surprised if there is palm soil on sale just like there is cacti soil. If there is not, then cacti soil might work good since cacti like it sandy and also need a little compost (richness). If I could, I might use two or more soil mixes to mix<<because the diversity will be insured that way. Diversity means good drainage and safety from extremes in pH or nutrient levels.
