  1. i've done baton twirling for ten years, um on youtube, look up baton figure eight, and flat twirl....its all in the wrist!

  2. Hi Twirler (the aptly named dancer),

Usually we call "twirling" either a turn or a pirouette in the dance world.  I "twirl" with my professional ballet company.  My record for pirouettes is 19 en dehors!  I broke the company record with it recently.  My biggest piece of advice while turning is pull up and imagine yourself strung to the ceiling like a marionette, so that way you absolutely cannot fall down.  You'll get about one more rotation around in!  =]

Have fun and good luck with your twirling career.  Feel free to contact me with further questions.♥

  3. hahhaha I'm not quite sure what you mean, but in ballet, I know that a lot of people get offended if you say "twirl". ballerinas "turn" :)

heheheh good luck with your dreams!

    xoxo

  4. haha, yeah. most people refer to it as turning.

but if you want to work on your turns, you should get instruction from a teacher or someone who is an experienced dancer, because they can show you how to be technically correct.

it also depends on what kind of turns you want to do.

in dance, two basic types of movement in a turn are spot and progressive rotation. there are different techniques and mechanics for each, so you should have someone show you each.

    i hope i helped =]
