Ugliness is subjective.  Why judge someone on their physical appearance.  Good-looking people are not always good-hearted, and ugly people are not always bad people.  As to him being a jerk, do you know him personally?  He never said that "France was going to smash the Americans" like it's been reported.  Someone came up with it and everyone ran with it like it was a proven fact.  No one has been able to find an actual source (interview transcript or video) of him saying this.  Sports Illustrated has mentioned it was possibly an urban legend.

As for the question...  As of March 2008, he was still single (look at the link below and use translate.google.com to translate the page into English)
