Does anybody know if there are cigarette lighters on a plane?

I want to know because I want to charge my PSP on the plane and I have a cigarette lighter adapter

  1. What type of plane? The C-150s and 172s had cigarette lighters on their panels similar to what you'd find on a car.

    Airliners don't.


  2. The 1975 Cessna I owned had a cigarette lighter in it. I used it to power a handheld GPS.

  3. on the newer ones there is a special connection that you can plug a connection into and it changes it into a cigarette lighter.

  4. its illegal to smoke on planes, so no, they wouldn't have cigarette lighters.

  5. Most light planes now in use were manufactured 20-40 years ago, and were made with cigarette lighters and ashtrays.

    Airliners always had ashtrays, but rarely had lighters.  In most airliners older than a few years old, the ashtrays are still there, but are of course never used.  In some airliners the ash trays have been removed.
