Does anybody know if there is a birth control just as effective and safe as depoprovera...?

That has the same risk of stroke as depoprovera?

  1. The risk is the same. Any birth control method that has estrogen in it, has the low risk of causing a stroke. There IS something called a mini-pill, which has no estrogen in it, but is less effective from protecting you from pregnancy and NEEDS to be taken at the same time daily.


  2. Talk to your GYN about it.  I took the depo and it was the worst thing I ever did!  I gained a massive amount of weight and had depression issues as well (which I wasn't aware were a result of the depo) Good thing you are off it!!!!
