  1. there are career developement loans (ask at banks,or google it ))-you dont have to repay until you have a job.Grants hard to get because I looked into it once for my son

-I think maybe if you are unemployed you can get some of the loan as a grant instead

  2. I work as FLT driver and i have spoken to drivers who have got funding from the job centre. I beleive you have to have been claiming job seekers allowance for six months or more. Thhats how i got my FLT licences.

  3. ILA THEY DONE MINE BUT IAM IN SOUTH WALES

GO TO YOUR LOCAL CAREERS OFFICE AND THEY WILL PUT YOU IN CONTACT WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE!!!!!

THE CARRERS PEOPLE WILL GIVE A GRANT TO

               GOOD LUCK!!!

  4. If in the UK and getting JSA the jobcentre can put you through the course.

  5. Lol, my partner has been trying to get funding to do an HGV course and can't get anywhere.

In South Wales you can get an ILA, but the ILA is only £200 and the HGV course is around £2,000 so unless you have a spare £1,800 lying around it won't be a lot of help (this is the situation we are in).

My partner's stepdad was only able to do a HGV course as he has a rich dad who gave him the £2,000.

As you are unemployed you might get more help than someone who is already working, but to my knowledge there is very little out there.  We've tried and hit a brick wall.  The Government don't want to help people upskill, it seems.

You could apply for a Career Development Loan but these come from High Street Banks who reject those with poor credit rating, financial problems etc.
