Question:

Does anybody know of any good spots to catch crab in OC, NJ or Sea Isle, NJ?

I want to go crabbing but I can't find any info where they are being caught and where I'm aloud to catch them!

  1. It all depends on how you are crabbing. You can hand-line them at any public access dock, and you'll get a couple, without a doubt. I would recommend buying a nice trap and find any public access dock. And it's worth the money to go to a bait shop and get a couple bunker to cut up for bait, it works lots better than chicken necks. (I can;t recall where the bait shops are in OC & SIC - Roseman's Marine at 82nd & third in Stone Harbor and the Hodge Podge at 24th & Ocean in Avalon both carry frozen bunker). You will get crabs ANYWHERE in the bay this time of year. I have been catching crabs in South Jersey for 50 years. I also crab in SCarolina, but use commercial crab pots, and you have to be licensed there.
