  1. Rome is fairly pricey - when I was there a couple years ago, a cheese pizza cost around 10 euros and a bowl of pasta cost around 15. Meat dishes are 17 euros and up.

Moreover, you're expected to at least order a bottle of mineral water (still or sparkling), which is about 4-5 euros. You can always order tap water in a glass, but this is considered tacky and will guarantee you snide looks from the waiters.

Fancy places and places on the main drag are more expensive.

But if you can get a table, be sure to dine at Alfredo's one evening. It's the place that invented Fettuccine Alfredo. It's a bit expensive (but not outrageously so), but the atmosphere is worth it.

  2. It really varied.

When my sister and I were there we went to McDonald's a lot, and had breakfast at our hostel. We did alright for money... and at least it was cheaper then France. I can't put it into dollar value unfortunately because they are on the Euro, and I live in Canada and I don't know where you are, so it might not mean a whole lot to you.

Hope that helps! And have a fun trip!

  3. It's hard to say because when we went the dollar was worth more than now. I would say one person for dinner in Rome not fancy it would cost 25-30 in American money. Just for a entree and a glass of wine.

Check out Piazza Navona, a restaurant called Tre Scalini.

Very good food and not expensive. Great place to have dinner and people watch.

    Have a wonderful trip trip.
