Does anybody know the current property values and prices regarding homes in Cape Town, South Africa?

Was thinking about moving to South Africa, and would like to find out if the housing in Cape Town is affordable.....what can I expect?

Depending upon what currency you will be paying with will determine how affordable it is.

At the moment it is a buyers market in South Africa as people are having trouble selling houses due to very high interest rates and a new credit control act that came in last year.

I'll give a few sample prices for a 4 bedroom house in a few areas around Cape town. (I have quoted prices for the better areas in each region)

Western seaboard: R2 - R7 million

Northern Suburbs: R1.6 - 5 million

Southern Suburbs: R3.5 - 8 million

Atlantic seaboard R6 million +

Obviously there are some exceptions. Property prices are still expected to fall a little over the next few months.
