  1. Two insults, and a "Crossaint..."

That's "Crescent Roll" in American dollars...

  2. yahoo

  3. The minimum wage is the same all over France. It is called the "Smic" (mimum interprofessional salary for growth). In July 2007, here was its official rate before taxes:

    - hourly wage: 8.44€ (US$11.97)

    - monthly wages: 1,280.07€ (US$1,815.14)

    These represent after taxes:

    - hourly wage: 6.63€ (US$9.40)

    - monthly wage: 1,005.37€ (US$,1425.61)

SMIC is recaculated each year according to inflation. The monthly wage is calculated for 35 hours of work weekly. Though you can still do more or less, it depends of the job.

You should be very cautious though. First, life is much more expensive in Paris than in other places in France. Second, the dollar currency is rather weak currently. Both things explain that you shouldn't expect to live as comfortably with 1,000€ in Paris than with US$1,425 in the US.
