Does anybody know the origin of this last name: Vallin? It might be jewish but I'm not 100% sure.?

  1.  I have some insight into the Vallin last name, First, I believe Vallin is a Root last name (not a variation of something else). I have been told our last name is an "ancient" last name and vallin means "petite valley" (probably farmers) from Lyon, France region. Please go to http://www.chateau-de-vallin.fr/  . The website has a good amount of info. It's the earliest referenced Vallin I've found so far is William Vallin (Crusader participant) 1100's.........
