  1. The literal translation is "express route". In English it is known as "the Norwegian coastal express"

Also known as "the worlds most beautiful sea voyage"

  2. It's just referred to as "Hurtigruten."  The company itself is "Hurtigruten ASA" (ASA is the abbreviation for a public limited company, similar to "Ltd").

Regarding the tagline, they do have a campaign that bills the Hurtigruten as:

    "The World's Most Beautiful Voyage"

(as mentioned on their website: http://www.hurtigruten.com/en/default.as... )

In the US, Hurtigruten used to be known as "Norwegian Coastal Voyage Inc." but in September 2007, the company chose to use the Hurtigruten name worldwide.

Hutrigruten literally means "The Fast Route" (hurtig-rute-en), because it started as (and still serves as) the main ferry line connecting the ports of the Norwegian coast.  It dates back to the days when there wasn't a particularly good road infrastructure along the coast, so traveling by boat was usually the quickest option.  Although the company sells package "cruise" trips including a cabin and meals, the ships still function very much as ferries.  They have a car deck and passengers can book passage (with or without a cabin) between any of the 35 ports.

FYI - If you haven't encountered it already, in addition to the information available on the Hurtigruten website itself, you can find a profile of the company and the various ships from a cruise perspective at Cruise Critic:
