There is no way to even begin telling you all the steps involved here.  I've got to assume you have little or no woodworking skills, so that would mean telling you every detail.  I can tell you every little step, even help you design it, but that's going to take quite a bit of time, and almost a book's worth of writing.  How nice do you want it?  What tools do you have available?  Do you have a place to work that is satisfactory?  Does it have a special use?  Does it need to fit a certain space?  What skills do you have?  Do you have a place to get the parts and pieces you'll need? Are you willing to go the extra steps to make a truly beautiful piece of furniture or are you more interested in it simply being functional?  Do you have a particular style in mind?  Does it need to facilitate use of various electronics?  What's your budget? Real wood, plywood, or other material?   You'll be better off just buying one.  Look for dovetailed drawers and solid wood on old pieces of furniture.  Refinishing an old piece might be more in your line.
