  1. There are NO requirements. You run as a private school that you run as you see fit. Okay, one correction: there are certain subject areas you are supposed to cover, but they don't tell you what explicitly to cover and nobody checks to see what you are doing. You have no paperwork to file, no mandatory testing to do.

  2. Everything that you need to know is right here. http://www.thsc.org/defaultpage.asp

Don't ever let you kids go to government school in Texas.

Write me with any question any time. I have regreted every second since I stopped homeschooling my kid in Texas.

I know some great programs if you are in the Dallas area.

I like NHEN, but they actually make it seem harder than it is.

  3. Glurpy is correct, don't let the thumbs down fool you into believing she is not right.  I don't know if the thumbs down were because someone thinks she is wrong or because someone doesn't like that truth.

The five areas:  reading, math, good citizenship, grammar, spelling.

  4. you need to ask the state of TX...and the county in which you live, not in Yahoo.

  5. Use this link for all Texas Laws for home schooling.

  6. The Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) has Texas homeschooling laws, along with information on how to get started in homeschooling.  Texas is an easy state to homeschool in; please click on the links below:

I hope the above is helpful.
