Does anybody know what band this man is in?

Okay, so my friend was trying to learn about her biological dad, and apparantly he was named Michael Byrne and was in a classic rock band. We were wondering if anybody on here knows him or what band he was in? I tried looking it up on google and other websites but I couldn't find anything...

He do not know what band he is but he is currently starring in Coronation Street, as Gail Platt's long lost father Ted Paige although i don't know if this is what you're looking for.
