When I was a child (around 12 years old; I'm 33 1/2 now) my mom had these rectangular see through place mats. Inside, there was a picture of a camp site. The place mat was full (maybe close to 50 I'm guessing) of little cartoons that were doing something interesting (I.E: a bear chasing somebody, some kids playing catch with a bee hive, somebody swinging off a tire swing, etc.) but all a part of the same big picture, which was being at the same camp site. On the other side of the place mat it showed only one image (bigger of course), and it was just 1 tent, and it's raining. Where can I find such a place mat???

  1. it sounds as though this was specific to a campsite that your family must have went to when you were young.  Ask your mom or your siblings if you guys ever went camping when you were young.  If so, then, write to that place and ask about the placemats. I doubt that they would still have them after all these years, but they might know about them.

another suggestion is that since you remember what they looked like, why not make them yourself?  You can get the images from google images and print them off.  Of you can draw them yourself.  Put it all together and then you can laminate them. I know you can buy a laminating machine cuz we have one at work.  It is only about 2 feet by 1 foot.  Maybe Staples or Beatties or some other office supply store will have one that you can buy or even use.  Maybe your library has one to use.

good look.  It sounds like a fun project to me.

  2. you could try ebay....and if you don't find it there, ebay has a want section where you could put in a request and then if someone has one laying around that they don't want, they'll sell it to you...good luck!
