Does anybody know which Roman felt this way?

Does anybody remember which Roman it was who felt that women were a curse on men and that men would be gods if women weren't on the earth? I've read so many books and Roman history is so vast that you can easily forget specific people. Thanks.

i know that in one version of the story of jason and the argonauts, jason says that the only reason men make love to women is because men can't have children. but only the love between men is pure.
