Does anybody know who Ted Bundy was?

I always thought that he played center forward for Preston North End in the early 1950s.

But a mate of mine says he was an American folk singer.

Ted Bundy was arguably the most notorious American serial killer of all time (although not the most prolific). He was disturbingly charming, good-looking, active in politics and civic service, but was a vicious "lady-killer." After cutting a path of murder through the Pacific Northwest and Utah, he was finally brought to trial for a murder in Colorado. After escaping (twice!), he fled to Florida. Instead of keeping a low-profile, he committed the now famous Chi Omega murders, during which he killed or seriously injured several women in one violent spree. He was finally brought to trial again in Florida for the murder of 12 year old Kimberly Leach, and executed by electric chair in 1989.  If you're interested in more about him, I recommend reading Ann Rule's The Stranger Beside Me. She was a good friend of Bundy's before she became one of the most famous true crime authors in the world.

Theodore Robert Bundy was a serial killer.  He murdered at least thirty women, and some estimates of his actual death toll near 100.  The most accepted total estimate is 35.  He was executed in January, 1989 for his crimes.
