  2. Here is the Free Agent List for 2008

    http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2007/03/20...

  3. Here are the list of potential FA for the Yankees this year and my prediction for them....

    1B - Jason Giambi (Option)

Giambi is in his final year of the massive 7 year, 120 million dollar contract but he does have a team option for 2009 for $22 million. Despite his decent year, I doubt that the Yankees would make the same mistake and just let him go. Mark Teixeira is a FA and expect the Yanks to go after him with a big offer, as he fills the need for an everyday 1B and an occasional DH.

    C - Ivan Rodriguez

Jorge Posada is expected to be ready by Spring Training of next year, so I-Rod is not in their offseason plans at this moment.

    OF- Bobby Abreu

I want to say that Abreu might be the priority but the OF class is too deep for the Yankees to pass up. Manny Ramirez, Pat Burrell, Adam Dunn are some of the big names out there that the Yankees could consider pursuing if talks with Abreu breaks down. Ramirez would be a solid choice as it gives A-Rod a cleanup hitter and sticking it to Boston at the same time.

SP - Mike Mussina, Carl Pavano, Andy Pettitte

2/5th of their rotation are FA after this year. Pavano is a sure goner but the decision would have to be between Mussina and Pettitte. Mussina has been the ace of this staff (16-7, 3.35 ERA) and could be consider a longshot for the Cy Young Award, but Pettitte is the better overall pitcher, despite the up-and-down season. The Yankees would like to keep one on a rotation that might feature Chien-Meng Wang, Phil Hughes, Joba Chamberlain, and Ian Kennedy by next season. However, the talent of SP (C.C. Sabathia, Ben Sheets, A.J. Burnett, Ryan Dempster, Derek Lowe) might be too good to pass up for the Yanks that needs to take there division back.

    RP - Damaso Marte (Option)

Marte, the left-handed specialist, has a club option for $6 million in 2009, but I doubt the Yankees would even pick it up. There are better options than Marte at this point.

  5. Did i read this question wrong...?

I thought you said what free agents are they going after...woops!

    All of them! :)

Texiaria & CC are going to be the big names the Yankees will through stupid virtually unlimited money at to get them in New York. (Which isnt a bad thing!)

Other nominees will be Moose, Pettire, Ramirez (Manny), Giambi, K-Rod, & many more lol.
