  1. HEB

  2. Try Murphy USA. The Wal-mart gas station on Roosevelt and Military. The manager is Jesse and he's hiring ppl for $8.50 an hr...I used to work there a long time ago, lol before he was manager

Or you can email him: stch@grandecom.net  ...Email your info name & number....

  3. www.workintexas.com

Click on "Register As Job Seeker". Those days of you having to sit there and fill out that paper application are slowly disappearing. Nowadays (in Texas) your future employer will ask if you're registered with the state, and you answer, yes. He/she will ask for your Social Security number and look you up in their computer and depending on your resume will tell you yes or no to see if you have the job.

By the way, veterans get first pick of all jobs in Texas.

Fill in all the necessary info such as desired job, rate of pay you expect, full time or part time. Also include your education level, past work history(include a small sentence or two describing what your duties were at each of your past jobs).

Include all training, licenses, certification,on the job training,etc.. This way employers from all over Texas will see your resume.

In your case, the nearest Workforce office is at 6723 S. Flores ,Suite 100. It's at the corner of S. Flores @ S.W. Military Drive.

While doing your resume,on your main page of Work In Texas, you'll see a list of employment recruiters who come here to recruit in person.

Bring your ID,and Social Security card and be prepared to hand in a printout of your resume. and I cannot stress this enough,PLEASE dress up. Bring a pen or two.

By the way,we also have a program called the Worforce Investment Act. This program allows you to go back to school to increase your training and help move you up the ladder to a better paying job. Just show up on Mondays and Thursdays at 8:30a.m.,and don't be late.

(No food or drinks are allowed in the building and turn off your cell phone while in class).

But move it because this program has limited funding and is a "First Come,First Served" basis. If the training you want falls under the Workforce "umbrella",then the State of Texas will pay up to $5800.00 a year for your schooling.

  4. Wash Tub SE Military across from Brooks City Base.
