Why did Tipsarevic lose so badly to ugly Montanes when he recently beat Blake? Did he have an injury or something?

  1. Winning yesterday and losing so badly today. Hmmm, I think he should see the doctor... these are tell tale signs of mononucleosis!

  2. My nephew could probably beat Blake. Blake is a has been. He should retire. Tipsarevic is not that good so he played to his potential today and lost. Albert Montanes is a good Spanish player who gets to hit with Rafa upon occassion so his ranking which is #44 may not be impressive but he has been steady and is getting better as witnessed today by his 6-2,6-1 azzwhoopin of that poor excuse for a tennis player Tipsarevic.  He tore that Serb apart. He made him look like a lil girl not a man. Vamos Alberto! He did what Rafa will do to Djokovic when they meet in the semis. Oh and did you see Rafa & Moya and Roger they kicked ash. What a great day for tennis.

  3. Blake is not a good clay-court player.  Americans tend to do poorly on clay.  On clay, you need patience and consistency.  Blake's game is go-for-broke...  so I'm surprised whenever he has any success on clay.

Montanes is Spanish and practices with Nadal, -- he's a good clay-court player.  And it's hard to defeat the Spanish armada and the latin americans on a clay court.

Tipsaravec hits hard and flat...  depends on lots of winners while making lots of errors, too.  not a great combination for clay-court success.  To be good on clay, you need consistent, penetrating shots, which Nadal has.  Tipsaravec probably made a ton of errors which is expected with his style.

Very few players are able to play well every single day and win almost every sinlge time.  There are only a few of them... Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic... that's why they're the top 3 players in the world.  I wouldn't put Tipsaravec in the same league as those guys.

The mononucleosis virus doesn't leave your system once you get it.  It only goes into dormancy -- so that would be a pretty stupid thing to lie about.  Like lying about Aids.  It's crazy to lie about something that can be clearly proven or disproven by successive test and health-checkups.  I have no doubt Federer had mono. Some people need to let it go... let it go...
